FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where do you teach?

I live in Maryborough, Queensland, Australia and sewing classes are held in my home sewing classroom. If you would like me to come to you to teach, please get in touch and I'll see if I can accomodate you on a case by case basis.

Are you qualified?

No. I am mostly self taught via short courses and books. I am passionate about sharing the skills I've developed over the 13 years I've been sewing. During that time I have built a successful handmade sewing business and PDF sewing pattern business. I have sold over 3500 PDF patterns, hundreds of dresses and have a passionate following on social media.

I've looked at the courses you offer, but it's not what I'm looking for.  Will you teach me something different.

Please get in touch and we can talk about what you want to learn and whether I am able to teach it. If I am not confident to teach what you want to learn I may be able to recommend a different teacher or some resources I have used to learn.

What will I need to bring to class?

A full resource list will be provided a week before your course commences detailing what you will need to bring along. For most courses you will need to bring your sewing machine, general sewing tools (eg scissors, quick unpick, pins etc) and fabric. It is best to learn with you own machine and tools, as they all have their own quirks! However if you don't have a machine and tools or would like to use mine that can be arranged, just let me know before the first class so I can check I have a space machine for you on the day. Fabric will be provided for the first lesson (ready cut for your first sewing project), but after that you can bring your own fabric. I do sell kits for the projects we will be sewing in class. You can purchase one of my kits if you prefer.

How do I book a class?

I don't have online booking set up yet. To book a class please get in touch via mobile 0419244284 or email ainsleefox@liv.com.au I will send you an invoice which can be paid via paypal or direct deposit.
